The Curriculum of Delhi World Public Foundation adheres to the National Curriculum Framework 2005 (NCF 2005) and the CBSE curriculum. The Foundation believes that the classroom experiences of children are to be organised in a manner that permits them to construct knowledge in consonance with the child's nature and context, thus providing equal learning opportunities for all children. Teaching aims at enhancing the child's innate desire and acumen to learn. Activity is at the heart of children's attempt to make sense of the world around them. Therefore, every resource is deployed in a child-centric manner to enable them to express themselves, handle objects, explore their natural and social milieu, and to grow up in good health.
Early childhood education is based on 'Maria Montessori' philosophy which is strongly based on the child’s intrinsic desire to learn skills in a child-centric environment. Montessori education recognizes the uniqueness of each child and provides value-added education, supported with an age-appropriate curriculum which focuses on the all-round development of a child – physical, social, emotional and cognitive. The Montessori labs are specially designed to provide a variety of constructive learning experiences to children to explore, experiment, build self-confidence, nurture intelligence, gain hands-on skills and enjoy learning.
As children step into mainstream education, the school’s primary focus is on Communication Skills which is only possible in an inter-participatory activity-based curriculum. Delhi World Public School aims to prepare children for the challenges of life which can be surmounted by creating an English-speaking environment, both in and out of the classroom. The children develop their knowledge and skills on the basics of literacy, numeracy and science. It is the age for making strong foundations in the heart and mind of impressionable age–groups, directing and guiding them to unfold the complexities of life. The integrated curriculum with its manifold assets will help children to gain experiential learning in scholastic and co-scholastic subjects. It is the beginning of formal education primarily based on familiar and known concepts which children see around them but inevitably don't co-relate. Within a structured curriculum designed by a team of dedicated staff, children will learn to comprehend, analyze and reflect measurably. With advanced technology, classrooms of today are transformed into SMART Classes and Activity Centres where learning is comprehensive, analytic & research-based.
There is a paradigm shift in the teaching and learning pedagogy in the Middle section, with children becoming more expressive and confident individuals. Having formed a strong base, the school aims to provide freedom of thought and expression, where every student can excel in his/her desired area of interest. Creativity and innovation will be the keywords to facilitate students to move beyond the confines of the classroom. We aim to provide holistic education with the drive to excellence not only in academics but in diverse areas of learning life skills, universal values, entrepreneurship & leadership skills, digital learning with global dimensions.
